Okay, not quite the dinosaur you’re probably picturing. 😂

This Saturday, “The Dinosaur of Lake Michigan” is coming to A. Montgomery Ward Park right here in River North.

The outdoor performance follows an explorer on the hunt for the mysterious “dinosaur” of Lake Michigan — which turns out to be one of the Great Lakes’ most fascinating creatures: the lake sturgeon. 🐟🦖

Created by Kerfuffle and Rabbitfoot Puppetry, the show uses realistic animal puppets made from recyclable materials, live music and interactive storytelling to introduce little ones to the Great Lakes while exploring themes of conservation and caring for our environment. It’s designed especially for children ages 3–6 and their caregivers.

🎟️ Free - registration is required, and the organizer currently lists tickets as sold out with a waitlist available.

One of the things we love about being at HUB116 is getting to share all the unexpected things happening around our River North neighborhood and we have to admit, “go searching for the dinosaur of Lake Michigan” wasn't on our weekend bingo card. 😉

If you have little ones at home, this looks like such a fun way to spend a Saturday morning in the neighborhood.
